Playing for Sunderland’s U-23 side in a Premier League 2 match against Tottenham Hotspur, the 20-year-old California sent in a cross that turned into the first goal of a 2-2 tie.

But his day ended in pain, as Gooch was stretchered off with an ankle injury. He was expected to undergo X-Rays today, and the Black Cats await the results.
