Tottenham Hotspur beat Swansea City 5-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday as Mauricio Pochettino‘s side dominated from start to finish.

Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen both scored twice, plus Heung-Ming Son scored a cracker to pile on the misery for Swansea in a comfortable win for Spurs.

The victory moves Tottenham on to 27 points for the season, while Swansea remain on nine points and Bob Bradley‘s men slip to last place in the table.

Spurs dominated the early proceedings with Swansea struggling to get going in attack but they held firm for most of the first half despite not having a single attempt at, or on, goal.

Then Dele Alli was brought down by Kyle Naughton five minutes before half time. Or at least that was the way it looked on first viewing.

On a second viewing, Alli went over rather easily to win the spot kick and referee Jon Moss got it wrong.

Kane scored the spot kick and sent Lukasz Fabianski the wrong way as he celebrated his new contract in style to put Spurs 1-0 up.

Right on half time it was 2-0 as Christian Eriksen’s deflected shot fell into the path of the South Korean forward and he volleyed home superbly.

The contest was pretty much over less than five minutes in to the second half as good work from Son allowed Kane to sweep home his second and Spurs’ third. 3-0.

Spurs continued to dominate as Eriksen curled a free kick just wide and Kane had another goal chalked out for being offside, as Swansea just couldn’t cope with the constant pressure the hosts put them under.

Kane was denied by Fabianski at the near post but soon Spurs were 4-0 up as a shot from Alli was saved but looped up and towards the goal and Eriksen bundled home.

The chances kept coming for Spurs with Kyle Walker, Victor Wanyama and Kane, again, going close but and in stoppage time Eriksen smashed home to make it 5-0.

It was a comfortable win for the north London side but another bad day for the Swansea defense as they remain bottom of the Premier League table.
