One survivor of the tragic Chapecoense plane crash remains in the dark about what transpired.
Chape defender Helio Hermito Zampier Neto is one of just three players to have survived the accident, while 71 other members of the flight were tragically lost.
As Neto continues to recover in the hospital, team doctor Carlos Mendonca has stated that a psychologist has advised against telling the center back what happened in the lead up to Copa Sudamericana final as a precaution.
The 31-year-old has reportedly been asking about Chape and how the club fared against Atletico Nacional, the team the Brazilian side was to face in the competition’s finale.
“It’s a recommendation from the psychologist not to tell him [on the plane crash] just yet to avoid any emotional shock that would be potentially damaging for his clinical recovery at this moment,” Mendonca told Globo.
“So we should follow this qualified opinion for now.”Follow @MattReedFutbol
