Earlier this year photos of a five-year-old Afghan boy wearing a plastic bag with “Messi 10” written on the front went viral.
The boy in question was Murtaza Ahmadi, who hails from the Jaghori District in the eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan and the photos of him smiling with his homemade Messi jersey touched the hearts of people across the globe.
Messi, 29, then sent Murtaza a real shirt which was signed by him and there was a message saying he loved him.
Murtaza and his family have since had to flee to Pakistan but now he and Messi have met for the first time on Barcelona’s trip to Doha, Qatar.
Below is a video of the two meeting ahead of Barca’s friendly with Al Ahli on Tuesday, and it gets even better: Murtaza will walk out on the pitch with Messi before the game.
