U.S. Soccer camp member and former Gambia youth national team call-up Kekuta Manneh has officially been granted American citizenship, according to Sports Illustrated.

The Vancouver Whitecaps attacker has been amongst the most explosive talents in Major League Soccer when healthy.

Manneh, who just turned 22 in late December, was called into U.S. camp under Bruce Arena, a camp which began Wednesday in California.

Manneh has 23 goals and 11 assists in 113 matches for the ‘Caps. A left-sided attacker, he scored five goals and added two assists before suffering a season-ending injury this season.

While this doesn’t mean he’s cleared to play in matches for the USMNT, it’s still a very exciting development should he, as expected, show well at camp.
