Most of the first half-hour belonged to Swansea City, as Bournemouth missed surprise non-starter Jack Wilshere.

Marc Pugh handled a Tom Carroll effort in the 18 for what could’ve been a penalty, but wasn’t adjudged to fit the bill.

Afobe put Bournemouth ahead, pretty much against the run of play, when his shot turned off Alfie Mawson to wrong foot Lukasz Fabianski. Not quite own goal for us, but Mawson’s name is on the sheet.

Artur Boruc flew through the air to deny Gylfi Sigurdsson an equalizer, then poked the Icelandic star’s corner kick clear.

Afobe then got a goal of his own, his fourth of the PL season, in the 72nd minute. Perhaps we shouldn’t have expected a comeback given the statistic below this sentence.

Wilshere subbed into the match and delivered a gorgeous cross that Joshua King powered toward the near post, only to see Fabianski keep it from the line.
