Swansea had a good percentage of possession, but it was West Ham who challenged with a free kick in the 16th minute. Lukasz Fabianski had his angles covered as Manuel Lanzini swept an offering just over the bar. Crisis averted.
Fabianski made a terrific save on Robert Snodgrass‘ header in the 20th minute. With the goalkeeper’s body almost completely inside the goal, he plunged his arm back into the field of play to keep the ball off the line.
Kouyate made the difference when he capped off a deft passing sequence through the heart of Swansea City with a gorgeous low rip to the left of Fabianski.
The keeper denied Andre Ayew later, allowing Swansea a chance they’d fail to cash in. Relegation is still the pace of the Welsh side.
