Swansea City 2-1 West Brom: Swans fight back on final day

  • Swansea beat West Brom 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium on the final day of the season as the Swans fought back to win.

    Jonny Evans made it 1-0 for the Baggies but Jordan Ayew equalized in an even game and then Fernando Llorente scored late on to make it 2-1.

    The win means Swansea finish on 41 for the season, while West Brom finish on 45 points.

    Early on both teams kept the ball well without any real opportunities as there was a mood of celebration in the air at Swansea.

    West Brom had a great chance to score as Salomon Rondon raced through but his weak effort was saved.

    A corner from Darren Fletcher found Evans at the back post to make it 1-0 as the Baggies deservedly took the lead.

    In the second half Leon Britton made a wonderful challenge to deny Rondon putting West Brom 2-0 up as the Swans struggled to get going.

    Swansea equalized through Ayew after good work by Gylfi Sigurdsson and then Paul Clement‘s men made it 2-1 late on as Llorente scored.

    The perfect ending to a party atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium.
