Fulham – Liverpool was an intense, tight clash as the visitors were happy to leave west London with a point.

The hosts played superbly and the reigning Premier League champions had an off day, as Bobby Decordova-Reid put Fulham 1-0 up early in the first half and the hosts dominated, but Liverpool found an equalizer as Mohamed Salah’s penalty kick made it 1-1.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Fulham – Liverpool as our own Joe Prince-Wright was on site at Craven Cottage.

A couple of penalty decisions which went Liverpool’s way, and some good stops from Alphonse Areola led to Fulham grabbing a point against the reigning Premier League champions. A great atmosphere at Craven Cottage down by the banks of the River Thames, as 2,000 fans returned and helped their team over the line.

Here is our reaction and analysis, as Liverpool dropped two points but will be feeling grateful to have avoided defeat.

84th minute

‘Come on Fulham, come on Fulham!’ is the chant from the home fans. They are trying to drag their side over the line.

GOALLL! Liverpool equalize. 1-1. Game on!

Harsh on Fulham, but that had been coming. A penalty kick by Mohamed Salah after a handball.

75th minute

Fulham look fairly comfortable. Can they hold on to a famous win!?

60th minute

It is all Liverpool now. Mane almost gets in down the left but Andersen clears then Areola makes a fine stop from Henderson, who is forward from center back and should score.

50th minute

The rain is lashing down here at Craven Cottage. My mind wanders to thinking about the walk back to my car in this, as I’ve forgotten my umbrella. I live in England. I should know better than this…

47th minute

Oh, no. Andy Robertson tries to clear and it almost rebounds off a Fulham player and into his own net but Alisson blocks. Liverpool looking ropey at the start of the second half a Joel Matip has gone off with a back injury. Minamino is on and Liverpool have Henderson at center back.

Premier League statement on VAR decision…

Fulham penalty appeal – 16’

“In the 16th minute of Fulham vs. Liverpool, Fabinho challenged Ivan Cavaleiro for the ball in the Fulham penalty area. The on-field decision was to award a corner. The VAR advised the referee to review the incident at the Referee Review Area for a potential penalty. He stayed with the on-field decision of corner as he felt that Fabinho got the ball, and there was no evidence of a clear and obvious error.”

Fulham deservedly lead and Liverpool are lucky to only be 1-0 down. Superb atmosphere in the cosy surroundings of Craven Cottage. Listen to the roar of the home fans in the video below! Soak that in.

44th minute

After Sadio Mane nodded wide, Mo Salah turns and fires just wide. Liverpool improving.

40th minute

It sounds like a fog horn has gone off by the two benches. Oh wait. It is Scott Parker and his team barking out orders. Fulham dropping a little deeper.

34th minute

This is the worst opening 34 minutes I’ve seen from Liverpool in a long, long time. Maybe ever, under Jurgen Klopp? Fulham almost score a second but a header is somehow saved, as Alisson denies the rampant Cottagers. The offside flag was up.

GOALLLL! Fulham lead against Liverpool, 1-0

What a strike from Bobby DeCordova-Reid. Fulham deservedly lead against Liverpool and that was a brilliant hit. Craven Cottage is absolutely rocking! Jurgen Klopp is screaming on the sidelines. Liverpool are totally off the pace here. “Who are ya, who are ya!?” chants from the home fans. They’re the reigning Premier League champions, but they don’t look like it.

25th minute

CLOSE AGAIN! Fulham are on fire here. Ola Aina plays a lovely diagonal to Ademola Lookman who cuts inside with RObinson steaming down the left, and his low cu

Lengthy check as Fabinho caught Cavaleiro in the box when clearing, but referee Andre Marriner is urged to go to the review area. He looks at the screen as the Fulham fans whip up a frenzy of noise in anticipation, but the original decision stands. No penalty kick. Correct decision.

14th minute

So close for Fulham! USMNT left back Antonee Robinson does really well to keep the ball in and finds Lookman who finds Cavaleiro who is clean through…. but his shot is straight at Alisson who got his angles spot on.

4th minute

The hosts have started well here. Ivan Cavaleiro has a shot pushed over by Alisson after beating the offside trap. Great intensity from the hosts as they respond to the chants of ‘Fulham, Fulham!’ from the home fans.

Kick off!

A wonderfully observed minute’s applause before the game for Papa Bouba Diop, as the former Fulham and Senegal midfielder passed away last week. Touching tribute for the man affectionately known as ‘The Wardrobe’ here at Craven Cottage.

Pre-game shenanigans

Welcome to Craven Cottage. My word, it is good to see fans back here in his famous stadium. A great atmosphere among the 2,000 fans here.

Fulham: OUT: Kenny Tete (calf), Terrence Kongolo (foot)

Liverpool: OUT: Diogo Jota (knock), Konstantinos Tsimikas (knee), Virgil van Dijk (knee), Thiago Alcantara (knee), Joe Gomez (knee), James Milner (thigh), Xherdan Shaqiri (undisclosed)

What they’re saying ahead of Fulham – Liverpool

Fulham’s Tom Cairney thinks the club can stay up: “Two years ago, because of the way we got promoted, because of the style of football we played and when we went half the (Championship) season unbeaten, I feel like we started that season a little bit naive. This time, it feels like we’re in every game. … I understand people saying, ‘Oh, it’s going to be the same again. We’ve lost, conceded goals’. But within these four walls, and within our dressing room, it doesn’t feel like that. I’m confident we’ve got more than enough to stay up.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on VAR decision versus Midtjylland: “I haven’t seen it back but it took too long and it was really cold. It’s really hard. I used to be one of the people who said VAR is a good idea but I’m not sure I’d say that again.”

Odds and ends (full odds provided by our partner, PointsBet)

No surprise to see that Liverpool are heavy favorites to win at -334, while Fulham would net +750 for three points at home. A draw pays +450.

Fulham – Liverpool prediction

The Reds barely used Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Andy Robertson, and Jordan Henderson at midweek and totally rested Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip. While Fulham is improving, the Reds didn’t even leave Merseyside this week. London won’t kill them. Fulham 1-3 Liverpool.

Manchester United welcomes Leeds to Old Trafford on Wednesday as a stung foe heads to Manchester days after a managerial change (watch live, 3pm ET on USA Network and online via NBCSports.com).

Leeds fired Jesse Marsch on Monday, and fellow American boss Chris Armas will be among the men guiding the club as it seeks a new boss and a way out of the relegation scrap.

Marsch helped Leeds bound out of the bottom three last season but the club has struggled of late and enters this Premier League midweek match in 17th only by virtue of tiebreakers.

Man United, meanwhile, has won four-straight across all competitions ahead of two-straight matches against Leeds (the second, at Elland Road, is Sunday).

The Red Devils can pull level with second-place Man City on points with a win on Tuesday

Key storylines & star players

Marcus Rashford had scored in six of United’s last seven Premier League matches and he’s zipped up the PL goals list as one of just six players with at least 10 goals this season.

One player Rashford is likely to pass is fellow 10-goal man Rodrigo, who will not play for Leeds. The visitors will be looking to new signings Georginio Rutter and Weston McKennie to help lead the way, while Wilfried Gnonto and Jack Harrison seem likely to keep pestering opponents with pace.

Southampton vs Wolves: How to watch live, stream link, team news

Southampton host Wolves in a huge relegation six-pointer in the Premier League and all of the pressure is on the hosts.

After a dreadful run of form which has seen new manager Nathan Jones lose six of his first seven Premier League games in charge, including a 3-0 drubbing at Brentford last week, Southampton sit bottom of the table. However, they are just three points from safety and badly need a win to unite their fanbase, players and coaching staff.

Wolves are looking so much better under new manager Julen Lopetegui as they hammered Liverpool 3-0 last time out to move further away from the bottom three. Lopetegui has won three of his six Premier League games in charge but they remain just two points off the relegation zone.

Key storylines & in-form players to watch

Saints are in freefall and if they lose this game it feels like Nathan Jones will lose his job. The Welsh coach went on a bizarre rant following their shellacking at Brentford and said he has pandered to others and hasn’t done his job properly ever since he arrived at Southampton in November. The owners are backing him, for now, but in midweek they admitted results have to improve. After spending big on deadline day to bring in forwards Paul Onuachu and Kamaldeen Sulemana, now is the time for Southampton to drag themselves off the bottom. If not, they could have a third manager of the season very soon.

Wolves were brilliant against Liverpool and have found a great system for the players they have with the 4-4-2 working wonders. Lopetegui is famed for having a solid foundation defensively but the big change has been Wolves being much better on the counter and finally finishing off chances. After bringing in Sarabia, Cunha, Lemina and Dawson in January they have added experience and quality in key areas and it seems to have given the entire club a lift.

Southampton team news, injuries, lineup options

Kyle Walker-Peters should be fully fit after a recent hamstring issue, while Alex McCarthy remains a doubt and Valentino Livramento and Juan Larios are definitely out. Onuachu and Sulemana should start, while Nathan Jones has favored a 3-5-2 formation in recent weeks so it will be intriguing to see if he persists with that despite fan unrest towards his tactics.

Wolves team news, injuries, lineup options

Chiquinho, Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traore remain out, while Pedro Neto will miss this game. Mario Lemina is a doubt, while Hwang Hee-chan is out after suffering a thigh injury. Adama Traore, Daniel Podence and Joao Moutinho could come into the starting lineup given these injuries.

West Ham vs Chelsea: How to watch live, stream link, team news

West Ham host Chelsea on Saturday in a massive London derby as both teams aim to kick-start their respective campaigns.

The Hammers have improved in recent weeks as they beat Everton and drew at Newcastle last time out. David Moyes’ men are still hovering just above the relegation zone but it looks like they will now kick on in the second half of the season and they usually fare well against their bitter London rivals Chelsea.

As for the Blues, they have won just once in their last six Premier League games but they are becoming very tough to beat, and score against, under Graham Potter. Three shutouts in a row have them on a three-game unbeaten run and now they have all of their January additions on board, expect Chelsea to climb closer to the top four.

Key storylines & in-form players to watch

The Hammers are slowly getting back to their best and Nayef Aguerd has been in fine form at center back and is now fully fit after arriving in the summer. Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio have been among the goals in recent games and there is a menacing look to West Ham on the counter.

Chelsea’s new signing Enzo Fernandez made a great impact on his debut against Fulham last time out, while Badiashile has also impressed at center back, while Mudryk and Madueke are both getting up to speed on the wing. Joao Felix will finally be available again after he missed the last three games due to his red card on debut.

West Ham team news, injuries, lineup options

Kurt Zouma (thigh) and Maxwel Cornet (calf) remain out, while Gianluca Scamacca is battling back from a knee injury. Alphonse Areola and Thilo Kehrer are struggling with hamstring issues. It will be intriguing to see if Moyes starts with January signing Danny Ings up top in this game or if he continues with Michail Antonio as the focal point.

Chelsea team news, injuries, lineup options

N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja remain out, while Wesley Fofana and Mateo Kovacic are close to being available. Denis Zakaria and Edouard Mendy are out too, but Joao Felix is back from suspension which gives Potter a very lively option up top and it would be no surprise if the Portuguese stars starts this game.
