Nice’s Jean Seri is reportedly Unai Emery’s first target as Arsenal boss.

A report from the Daily Mail states that Seri, 26, is available for $46 million and although both Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are interested, the Ivorian midfielder is a long-time target of the new Arsenal boss.

Seri almost signed for Barcelona in the past and Emery tried to sign him in January while he was in charge of PSG.

The defensive midfielder is in the N'Golo Kante mould, but slightly more attack-minded than Kante. He has an incredible engine, exceptional reading of the game and is able to protect the ball while also starting attacks with surging runs on the ball. Yep, that’s the type of player who would thrive at Arsenal.

Seri’s arrival would also be much-needed following Santi Cazorla leaving after a two-year injury nightmare, plus Jack Wilshere out of contract on July 1 and likely to leave the Gunners. With Granit Xhaka‘s big-money arrival never quite working out, especially defensively, Seri could be a key part of the jigsaw in Emery’s rebuild as he can keep the ball and also spark the new high-pressing style the Spaniard wants to say.

Teenage defender Josha Vagnoman is being linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton, according to multiple outlets.

A report from ESPN states that the 17-year-old Hamburg full back (the second youngest player in Bundesliga history) will move on this summer and clubs across Europe are lining up to sign the German youth international as his contract with recently relegated Hamburg ends in July.

Vagnoman is interesting Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig but the report claims Arsenal have the edge due to their new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, keeping a close eye on his countryman over the years. Vagnoman is able to play left or right back.

Joining the likes of Arsenal, Bayern and Chelsea would likely mean a few years in the reserve squad for Vagnoman, while he could well play soon for either Dortmund or Leipzig given their penchant for giving youth a chance in their first team.

Manchester City may finally be addressing their need for a new, quality centerback.

After reports emerged that Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte was on Manchester City’s radar, the transfer appears to be speeding up. Laporte was held out of Bilbao’s squad for its match against Eibar on Friday, with El Correo reporting that Manchester City will pay Laporte’s release clause of about $80.8 million on Monday.

The report says that while Laporte is expected to also complete his medical on Monday, it could be held up on contractual terms, which could bring the total amount of the transfer with agent feels to north of $186 million.

If Laporte does sign, it gives manager Pep Guardiola a top-notch La Liga trained centerback entering the prime of his career as a 23-year-old, with Vincent Kompany constantly sidelined and Eliaquim Mangala failing to break into the first team. What remains to be seen is how quickly Laporte can adjust to the rigors of the Premier League as Man City continues its charge through the Premier League season.

So here’s a p.m. batch of rumors to match our a.m. edition.

Nice midfielder Jean Seri has name-dropped Arsenal and Liverpool as a possible destination for his services following a failed move to Barcelona.

A 26-year-old Ivorian with box-to-box ability, Seri boasts seven goals and nine assists from Nice’s strong 2016-17 season.

The London Evening Standard has quotes from the player that are anything but vague:

“I want to sign up big European clubs, such as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool.

“For example, Roma, has made several offers. I have spoken many times with Monchi and this transfer has not occurred either because of economic reasons.”

Nice was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League by Napoli, and Seri is cup-tied to the Ligue 1 side.

Another Ligue 1 outfit has a player of interest to Arsenal, and The Express brings news that the Gunners have asked PSG about a willingness to part ways with longtime target Julian Draxler.

The German winger is also mentioned as a Borussia Dortmund target, but will certainly find it harder to star at PSG with Kylian Mbappe set to join Neymar and Edinson Cavani at the French club.

Dads say the darnedest things, and Divock Origi’s father says one of Liverpool’s Premier League peers could be making a move for the 22-year-old Belgian striker.

“Divock has to leave Liverpool to get more playing time,” he told DH.be. “Tottenham is a possibility, but there is also interest from France and Germany.”

Origi had been mentioned as a loan target for Rafa Benitez at Newcastle United as well as Monaco.
