Chelsea is looking to make a big transfer splash as it searches for potential replacements for Michy Batshuayi and David Luiz.
According to multiple reports, Chelsea is attempting a double signing from AS Roma, forward Edin Dzeko and midfielder Emerson Palmieri. The Brazilian left-back is rated by Roma at $30.5 million but he could join Chelsea on loan. However the interest in Dzeko is much newer, and it’s unclear whether Roma would allow Dzeko to leave, especially in the middle of the season.

With Roma preparing to face Inter Milan this weekend, talks between the two clubs have been put on hold until next week.
Dzeko’s agent confirmed that Conte is interested in the Bosnia and Herzegovina international but stated Dzeko’s desire is to remain at Roma.
After failing to beat out Sergio Aguero in the starting lineup for Manchester City, it would be interesting to see Dzeko give the Premier League another go, although he’d likely play second-fiddle again, this time to Alvaro Morata.
Here are some more transfer rumors from around Europe and the Premier League:
With Alexis Sanchez looking likely to depart this month and Mesut Ozil expected to follow either in January or at the end of the season, Arsenal already has its eyes on replacements.
One player that has reportedly caught the eye of manager Arsene Wenger is Bordeaux’s Brazilian starlet Malcolm, according to The Times. Arsenal representatives are set to meet with 20-year-old forward’s agents on Wednesday, with Tottenham also reportedly interested in the youngster. Bordeaux has reportedly placed a value of $61 million on Malcolm.

Malcolm has settled well in Ligue 1 since joining Bordeaux from Corinthians in January 2016. He scored seven goals in his first full season last year and has seven goals in 18 appearances already this season, including this bonkers one from 40-yards away that stunned Bordeaux’s social media staff.
It’s a high price to pay, with Sanchez surely leaving the Emirates Stadium for less than Malcolm, but if given time to settle, perhaps Malcolm can develop into a Premier League star in the same way Gabriel Jesus has at Manchester City.
Bordeaux has a starlet on its hands.
Twenty-year-old forward Malcolm scored an absolute beauty of a strike during Bordeaux’s match on Friday against Dijon, dribbling inside from the right before unleashing a stunning left-footed blast that fizzed into the roof of the net, past the poor Dijon goalkeeper who clearly wasn’t expecting a shot from 40 yards out.
The goal gave Bordeaux at the time a 2-1 lead and cause the team’s social media operator to temporarily lose their minds, before some stunning poetry to try and describe what they just saw.
The first tweet needs no translation. But the second says “35-meters from (Dijon goalkeeper Baptiste) Reynet, Malcolm saw a spider in the sky and decided to remove it. Nothing to say.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Have a look at the goal below. It’s Malcolm’s seventh of the Ligue 1 season through 17 matches.
